The Culminis Compass - July  2004

Culminis Welcomes New Member Organizations
The Windows Media User’s Group (WMLA) is a large 1200-member group located in Los Angeles, and is focused on supporting Digital Media Professionals in the greater Los Angeles region. WMLA becomes the first Digital Media user group awarded membership into the Culminis Alliance Program. Started in 1998, WMLA meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month on the UCLA Campus, where members discuss topics such as Microsoft WMV-HD and Windows Media 9 Series technology.

We are also very pleased to welcome the 11,000 member WindowsBBS Group from

Malta. WindowsBBS is a Microsoft forums-based group: discussion topics include Windows operating systems, and networking & security issues. The site is staffed by volunteers, a number of whom are Microsoft MVPs in various technologies.

Last but not least, the Network Users Group of Anchorage was the last member to be also accepted this month. They are 75-members strong group, comprised of and focused toward network technicians, administrators, and professionals. The organization’s goal is to offer their members support, continuing education, and training.

International Expansion in Key Development Stage

Culminis Executive Director, Dave Sanders, is in Amsterdam during TechEd Europe, meeting with several key players in the international development arena. Several Member Organization leaders have dedicated time and resources to meet with Dave Sanders to solidify the Culminis Alliance Europe.

The following five countries currently have representatives meeting with Dave: France, Greece, Italy, Malta, and the Netherlands.

Over the next  8 to 12 months, the Culminis Alliance Europe will be in beta mode while the necessary resources are identified and developed. During beta mode, European groups are allowed to join with the understanding that full benefits will not be offered until the full launch of the program in Europe. Until that launch date, dues will not be charged.
