The Culminis Compass - July  2004

Culminis Alliance Members to Participate in Pilot Program for Microsoft TechNet

The Culminis Alliance has been asked by the Microsoft TechNet team to help beta test the new TechNet subscription package currently being developed.  Within the next two weeks, Culminis Alliance Leaders will receive more information about the pilot program, which

is only open to 125 IT professionals.  If you think your group would like to participate and can commit 10 people to a 3-month pilot program, please email Ron Gandiza, Culminis Director of Development, at ron@culminis.com.

Technology Focus Topic of the Month: Terminal Services

Culminis Connections is starting a new column called the “Technology Focus Topic of the Month,” which allows Culminis Alliance Members to provide feedback on a specific technology directly to Microsoft’s Product Teams that work closely with Culminis.  For the month of July, the topic is Windows Terminal Services, and the Terminal Services Development team at Microsoft is really interested in your feedback.

If you would like to respond to these questions on Terminal Services or have suggestions for features that you would like to see in the future releases of Windows Server, please share your ideas at www.windowsserverfeedback.com/culminis.  We will report the results in next month’s column.

1.      What new functionality should we build into Terminal Services?

2.      What existing functionality in Terminal Services could be improved?

3.      How can we make it easier to deploy or manage Terminal Services?

4.      How can we improve your understanding of how to license Terminal Services (e.g. where do you go to get information)?

5.      What particular security enhancements (if any) would you like to see in Terminal Servers in the future?
